As much as I love and admire Donovan McNabb for what he has done over the years, his career as a starting quarterback in the NFL is over. According to sources, rookie quarterback Christian Ponder will get his first start on Sunday. This is the second time McNabb has been benched and he's not getting any better nor younger. At 35 years old McNabb, a former franchise player for the Philadelphia Eagles, has to now accept the fact that he's no longer a front runner on a team's wish list. He'll still receive calls from other teams during the off season, but as a back-up. Now that Minnesota decides to turn to the future so soon by starting their 12th overall pick in this years draft out of Florida State, there's no way hell that Minnesota goes back to McNabb. He'll become a free agent and from there we'll see what happens to him. I know one thing for sure, he won't be starting for any team anytime soon. But as a sports believer, he'll still go down as a Hall of Fame NFL quarterback.
